Functional Training For High School Athletes


 

6 week Fitness Training Program for Middle/High School Athletes  

Strength program for athletes of all ages and abilities:

  • This program is specifically designed to help athletes develop a strong muscular and aerobic base to improve their power, strength, agility and endurance as well as improve muscular balance to prevent injury.
  • Held at the Andover/North Andover YMCA: rolling enrollment - 6 weeks sessions
  • Fridays from 3:30 to 5:00 PM
  • Meet in the gymnasium at the Andover/North Andover YMCA, 165 Haverhill Street, Andover.
  • Price: $65 YMCA members, $120.00 non-members
  • *Team rates available for groups of 6+

  • Program Outline:

  • -- Core strength training - medicine balls, mat work, dumbbells, stability ball

  • -- Balance training - Bosu balls, stability balls

  • -- Speed work - drills and aerobic conditioning

  • -- Power and explosive strength - jump ropes and plyometrics

  • -- Agility work - agility ladder and agility tools
