YMCA Youth & Government:

Local YMCA students have the opportunity to attend a Legislative weekend at the State House in Boston and meet other youth from around Massachusetts while they their legislative agenda and bills.

YMCA Youth & Government uses the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility to teach teens in grades 9-12 how they can participate in the democratic process. Participants have opportunities to develop skills, make friends and learn how they can make a difference in their community and state.

The motto of YMCA Youth & Government is ‘Democracy must be learned by each generation’ and we work toward that goal by teaching that every person can make a difference and that understanding and participating in government is for everyone.
