Thank You For Going The Extra Mile: Jessica Borges!
Jessica has been an asset to the Y and our members since the day she was hired. While working the floor, she cleans tirelessly – keeping all 108 pieces of equipment clean at all times. If that wasn’t enough, she also agreed to clean our spin bikes on a weekly basis.
In addition to her top-notch cleaning skills, Jessica makes time to build relationships with members and coworkers and to develop herself. She took Mikey (a staff member with developmental disabilities) under her wing and has been there to support him whenever he is here.
Jessica earned her certification in nutrition and personal training and now trains clients when she is not working the floor. She didn’t hesitate when asked to take on two of our special needs clients and immediately made a positive impact on their development. She also jumped at the opportunity to go through the Rock Steady instructor training course and now teaches this program for people with Parkinson’s twice a week. She was also the very first person to agree to represent Y staff at a disaster relief site for the Merrimack Valley.
Jessica is a valuable staff member and a wonderful person. She shows up every day with a great attitude and a willingness to help. We are lucky to have her at our Y!
