The mission of the Music Clubhouse is to provide youth (ages 10-18) with opportunities for character development and increased self-confidence by learning how to play, perform, compose, and record music. The key goal of the Music Clubhouse is to use music as a vehicle for developing academic skills and character development, ultimately building self-confidence and self-esteem.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A strong contemporary music background as both a multi-instrumentalist and audio production skills
- A proven track record in youth development programs in an urban setting
- A proven ability to relate to a culturally-diverse group of pre-teens/teens as an instructor and mentor
- Supervisory skills to manage part-time staff and several projects simultaneously
This is a part-time position which is paid hourly. The expected schedule is to teach morning Enrichment music classes for Lawrence Public schools on Tuesday and Thursdays and implement the Music Clubhouse Programming evenings from 3:00-7:00 pm. This position requires some weekend hours/nights. Average of 25-29 hours per week.
